Construction Alert! Poinciana Boulevard Widening Project
Osceola County is improving a 2.5 mile section of Poinciana Blvd from the existing two-lane rural road to a four-lane urban roadway. Additional improvements will include the construction of drainage and storm water facilities, signalization upgrades, bike lanes and new sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.
This project is located between Crescent Lakes Way to the intersection of US 17-92.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2009 and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2011.
Residents are advised that neighborhood access may be impacted during certain phases of construction. Additionally, the contractor will follow the Osceola County Noise Ordinance during construction activities. However, nearby residents can expect some level of noise throughout the course of this work.

First day of classes is August 24
Please remember that students may not enter the building until 8:20am and the student day runs from 8:50am - 3:20pm.

SAC Meeting
Second SAC meeting for the year will be held on Thursday, September 24 in the Reedy Creek Elementary Media Center at 6:00 pm.

Increased Safety Measures at Reedy Creek Elementary
Single Point of Entry
The visitor parking at Reedy Creek Elementary has been moved to the secondary parking lot by the school Media Center. The gate located by the designated visitor parking spots will be the "single point of entry" for all visitors at RCE. During school hours the bus loop will be locked and the main parking lot will be used for faculty and staff parking only. A new electrical gate was installed this summer and will only be open for morning and afternoon arrival/dismissal. This gate will not open until 3:15 p.m. each afternoon. All parents picking up their child from school are requested to arrive no earlier than 3:15 p.m. Dismissal from the classroom will begin at 3:20 p.m. this year. Parents reporting to campus earlier than 3:15 p.m. will create a traffic jam and therefore impact the arrival of buses on the RCE campus. Everyone's cooperation at this busy time of day is greatly needed and appreciated.
